Stephen Marino – Chorus Master
Stephen Marino is a passionate musician, singer, accompanist, composer and linguist. He studied piano at the Canberra School of Music with John Luxton and singing with Lauren Hannay in Cairns. Stephen is particularly active as a singer on the Melbourne Choral circuit and has performed in many concerts primarily with Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and Melbourne University Choral Society both on a national and international level. He has also sung as chorister and choral soloist with Victoria Chorale, Festival of Voices in Tasmania, North Queensland Philharmonic, Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Symphony, and most recently The Australian Ballet. He also has a keen interest in musical theatre and has appeared in principals roles in Les Miserable, Fame and Annie with the Cairns Choral Society.
Stephen has served as accompanist, assistant rehearsal accompanist and assistant conductor for MUCS, RMP, Australian Children’s Choir, Catholic Education Queensland and frequently accompanies for examinations for both vocal and instrumental students. Stephen recently debuted as Tenor Soloist in Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music with Preston Symphony and is thrilled to be returning to act as Chorus Master for this co production of Pagliacci with National Touring Opera.
